Specifically, Datalere is looking for a senior application developer who wishes to work in the world of data.

Please note that this role may have some remote work as long as the candidate can work downtown and possibly some other metro Denver area locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follows application development best practices, such as source control, continuous integration, and test-driven development
• Efficiently interacts with data from a variety of different database engines
• Understands code performance tuning so that you can understand why one block of code is superior to another based on how the technology works, Big O Notation, etc.
• Learns new technologies or languages easily due to a solid understanding of computer science theory and how languages or technologies generally work
• Technology agnostic and willing to learn many new technologies or languages on an as-needed basis
• Potential Interest in learning how to architect small solutions, working with a more senior member of the team
• Builds repeatable, functional production-ready code
• Ability to create and consume RESTful APIs
• Able to perform a good deal to most functions as a stand alone resource.
• Acts proactively within the organization. Sees a problem and steps into the role of problem solver
• Communicates findings to clients in an easy-to-understand way with excellent written communication skills, in the form of client-ready technical documentation, discussion aids, memos, emails, status reports, proposals or presentations, keeping the technical aptitude of the client in mind
• Engages with clients professionally and politely and has knowledge of or an interest in learning standard consulting techniques, such as how to manage a client’s expectations and how to say no
• Understands the tradeoffs between time, budget, and best practices and is able to manage those tradeoffs with the team and the client to create a positive relationship and high-quality deliverables
• Works in projects using agile management, including usage of a scrum or Kanban board, user stories, tasks, sprint reviews, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• Programs in SQL (required) in addition to at least one of the following: C#, Java, .Net, Python, or other similar coding language. Experience in D3.js is a plus. The ability to develop in a JavaScript visualization library such as Plotly, HighCharts, ChartJS, or similar is also a plus
• Familiar with a JavaScript framework such as Angular, React, or Vue
• Has a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an application development role
• Has previous experience working in a small organization or startup
• Works and learns both efficiently and independently and has the ability to work with unfamiliar tools and a broad set of techniques. Is able to teach other teach other team members about newly learned tools/techniques
• A strong preference will be given to candidates with previous consulting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, mathematics or similar technical subject area
• Experience working in the cloud (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). A strong preference will be given to candidates with a pre-existing Microsoft, AWS, or Google Cloud certification
• Willing to work hard to meet client deadlines, on an as-needed basis, in exchange for liberal paid-time-off and work-from-home policies during less busy time periods
• Is able to commute to client sites throughout the front range on an as-needed basis for working sessions, meetings, demos, and sprint reviews

Salary is open for this position and depends on experience, with base salaries ranging from $85, 000 to $140, 000 per year
